The Olivet Middle School Art classroom is a place where students can come and be creative. Students are able to be themselves and apply what they learn to their projects. Due to knowledge and pride in each project the students leave with self worth. They have more confidence and self esteem from the work they do in class. 
             
The arts teach our students how to express themselves in appropriate ways. It teaches them how to recognize and confront their feelings. With these feelings they can utilize the tools in which they are given through the arts and learn how to deal with them in the fitting way. The arts support our students in revealing themselves with confidence. It stretches their character and expands their thoughts in evaluating content and composition. The arts create a classroom that is consistent in challenging our students creativity as individuals and in group settings. It enhances our students educational experience in all ways. 
               
It is our duty as teachers to create a caring, stimulating and secure atmosphere. This atmosphere  motivates our students. It gives them what they need in order to grow mentally, physically, socially and intellectually. This is what we do at Olivet.
